Festive styles and new years nail designs
There are many ways to style your nails for a celebration. Popular new years nail designs range from classic French tips with a sparkly twist to dramatic ombres and magnetic effects. Choosing a curated set ensures that your colours blend together nicely and give you a clean, cohesive result.
What styles are available for New Year's nails?
Our collection features several pre-designed styles to suit your personal taste. You can choose a classic look with a twist like a glitter French manicure, or go for a modern gradient with a glitter ombre look. For those who want maximum sparkle, we offer full-coverage glitter sets and magnetic cat eye styles that shift in the light.
What is the difference between glitter gel polish and shimmer gel polish?
While both products add sparkle to your manicure, they create different effects. A glitter gel polish contains larger, distinct glitter particles that catch and reflect the light for a highly textured, brilliant sparkle. A shimmer gel polish contains very fine, micro sized shimmer particles that create a subtle, pearlescent glow with a smooth, metallic finish.
What is cat eye gel polish and how does it work?
A cat eye gel polish contains tiny magnetic particles. Before you cure the colour under your UV LED lamp, you hold a magnet close to the wet Gel Polish for a few seconds. The magnet pulls the metallic particles into a sharp, luminous line or a velvet like pattern that moves when you turn your hand.
How to apply glitter and effect gel polish
Applying glitter and effect polishes at home is straightforward when you know the steps. Because our products are designed for long-lasting wear, proper preparation and correct application are key to a beautiful result.
- Prepare your natural nails by gently pushing back your cuticles and shaping the edges with a nail file.
- Buff the nail surface lightly to remove the natural shine, then cleanse the nail to remove dust and oils.
- Apply a thin layer of Base Coat and cure it for 60 seconds in your UV LED lamp.
- Apply your chosen Gel Polish in thin layers. Cure each layer for 60 seconds. If you use magnetic polish, use the magnet before curing.
- Seal your design with a generous layer of Top Coat and cure for 60 seconds to ensure a durable finish.
How do you create a glitter ombre look at home?
To create a glitter ombre, apply your base colour and cure it. Then, apply a small amount of glitter Gel Polish near the tip of your nail. Use a nail art brush or a sponge to gently fade the glitter downwards toward the middle of your nail, creating a soft transition. Once you are happy with the fade, cure the layer and finish with Top Coat.
Do you need a UV LED lamp to cure these festive Gel Polish looks?
Yes, all our Gel Polish products, including glitter, shimmer, and cat eye effects, must be cured under a UV LED lamp. The light activates the gel, turning the liquid polish into a hard, durable layer. Standard drying by air does not work for these products.
Can you use these holiday looks over builder gel or polygel?
Yes, you can easily apply our festive Gel Polish looks over extensions or overlays made with Builder Gel or Polygel. After you have shaped and buffed your builder gel or polygel nail, simply cleanse the surface and apply your colour coats directly on top. Finish with Top Coat as usual.
How do you safely remove glitter Gel Polish?
Because glitter Gel Polish is strong and durable, it requires proper removal to protect your natural nails. You can use the soak off method by lightly filing the top shiny layer of your manicure first. Then, soak a cotton pad in Gel Remover, place it on the nail, and wrap it in foil for about 10 to 15 minutes. Once the gel has softened, gently scrape it away with a cuticle pusher without using force.
