Which products do you need for marble nails?
To create marble nails with Gel Polish, you’ll need a few basic products. You’ll often find these products included in a look or set at Nailster, but you can also put them together yourself.
-
Base Coat: Prepares the nail and helps your Gel Polish adhere.
-
Gel Polish colors: Choose 2-3 colors that suit your marble design. Typically, this includes a light base color and one or two contrasting colors for the pattern.
-
Top Coat: Protects the design and gives it a glossy finish.
-
UV/LED lamp: Used to cure each layer of Gel Polish.
-
Nail Art brush: A thin liner brush is ideal for drawing fine marble veins. A dotting tool can also be used to create dots, which you then drag outwards.
-
Blending fluid (optional): A special liquid that helps blend the colors for a softer, more fluid marble effect.
How to create marble nails with Gel Polish
You can easily create marble nails at home. With a little practice, you’ll quickly learn the technique. Here is the basic method:
-
Prepare the nail: File the nails, push back the cuticles, and cleanse the nail plate to remove oils.
-
Apply Base Coat: Apply a thin layer of Base Coat and cure in your UV/LED lamp for 60 seconds.
-
Apply the base color: Apply 1-2 thin layers of your chosen Gel Polish base color, and cure each layer in the lamp for 60 seconds.
-
Create the marble pattern: Apply one final thin layer of base color without curing it. While the layer is still uncured, add small dots or lines of your contrasting colors to the nail. Use a thin Nail Art brush, a dotting tool, or blending fluid to blend the colors together and create the marble effect.
-
Cure the design: Once you’re happy with the pattern, cure the nail thoroughly in the lamp for 60 seconds.
-
Finish with Top Coat: Apply a layer of Top Coat to protect the design and give it a beautiful shine. Cure again in the lamp for 60 seconds.
