Create special effects with powders
Powders are an easy way to give your Gel Polish colours a new look. You can create different effects that transform the finish of the nail.
What is the difference between pearl powder, chrome powder, and unicorn powder?
The different powders each create their own effect on your nails. You apply them to a cured layer of No-Wipe Top Coat, and then seal them with another layer of Top Coat.
-
Chrome Powder: Creates a mirror-like, metallic finish. Typically available in shades such as Gold and Silver, it gives an intense and glossy result.
-
Pearl Powder: Creates an elegant pearlescent shimmer. This type of powder reflects the light in a soft, iridescent way, often in shades such as White or Pink, for a sophisticated look.
-
Unicorn Powder: Creates a holographic, shifting play of colour. This powder catches the light and reveals a rainbow-like effect.
How do I use chrome powder, and what is it for?
Chrome powder is used to create a beautiful, mirror-like finish that resembles metal. It is easy to apply and gives an opaque, intense result.
How to apply Chrome Powder:
- Apply your Gel Polish colour and cure it as usual.
- Apply a thin layer of No-Wipe Top Coat and cure it in your UV lamp for 60 seconds. It is important to use a Top Coat without a tacky layer.
- Pick up a small amount of Chrome Powder with your applicator or finger.
- Gently rub the powder into the cured Top Coat until you have achieved the desired mirror effect.
- Remove any excess powder with a soft brush.
- Seal the effect with another layer of No-Wipe Top Coat and cure for 60 seconds.
Brushes and tools for precise nail looks
The right brushes make a big difference when working with gel products and Nail Art. Our selection gives you control and precision, whether you are building nails or creating detailed designs.
Which brush should I use for Builder Gel and Polygel?
The brush you choose depends on the product you are working with. The different brush types are designed to give you good control and an even result.
-
Gel Brush (#6 and #8): These flat brushes are ideal for applying and shaping Builder Gel, Liquid Builder Gel, or other thicker gel products. The flat shape helps you distribute the gel evenly across the nail.
-
Brush with spatula: This brush is specially designed for Polygel. The spatula at one end helps you scoop the right amount of Polygel from the tube and place it on the nail. The brush at the other end is used to shape the Polygel precisely before curing.
Which brushes should I use for Nail Art?
Nail Art brushes are designed to create different details and patterns. With the right tools, you can create everything from fine lines to soft transitions.
-
Liner Brush (#5, #7, #8, #9, #10, #11) and Solid Liner Brush #9: These brushes have thin, long bristles that are ideal for drawing fine lines, geometric patterns, lettering, and other details. The different sizes allow you to vary the thickness of your lines.
-
French Brush: This brush has an angled tip that is ideal for creating a sharp, curved smile line when creating a French look.
-
Ombre Brush: With its soft, slightly thinned tip, the Ombre Brush is ideal for creating smooth, soft colour transitions, also known as gradient effects.
-
Oblique Brush: An Oblique Brush is similar to a French Brush with its angled shape, but can also be used to create sharper diagonal lines or angular designs.
What do I use dotting tools for?
Dotting Tools are a simple yet effective tool for Nail Art. Each end of the tool has a small metal ball, and the ends come in different sizes.
You use Dotting Tools to:
- Create dots in different sizes, such as a polka dot look.
- Create small flowers or hearts by placing several dots close together.
- Create patterns with repeated dots or lines.
