Which shades of green work well on nails?

Green is a versatile color that suits many different looks and occasions. In our selection of green looks, you’ll find inspiration for everything from muted, natural shades to vibrant colors. Here are some of the popular green tones you can explore:

  • Matcha green: A muted, natural green inspired by Japanese matcha tea. This shade is often seen in designs such as Matcha Lines Look and Iced Matcha, and works beautifully for a timeless, minimalist look.
  • Mint and pastel green: Fresh, light shades that are perfect for spring and summer. They create a soft, playful look, as seen in Mint Blossom Look and Pastel Swirl Look.
  • Emerald green: A deep, soft green that creates a sophisticated look. Emerald Glow Look shows how this color can add elegance to your nails, and it is often popular during the colder months or for special occasions.
  • Camouflage green: A more edgy, earthy green that is ideal for a modern look. You’ll find inspiration for this style in Camo French Look, which gives the classic French nail an edgy twist.
  • Swirls and combinations: Green can also be combined with other colors in creative patterns such as swirls. Color Swirls Look and similar designs show how you can play with different shades in your own style.

How to create green nail designs

How do you create green nail designs?

Creating beautiful green nail designs at home requires the right Gel Polish, a few tools and a good basic understanding of the process. Here are the general steps to follow:

  • Prepare the nail: Always start by preparing the natural nail. Push back the cuticles, file the nail into shape, gently buff the surface and cleanse with Nailster Cleanser. This helps your Gel Polish adhere properly.
  • Base Coat: Apply a thin layer of Base Coat and cure in your UV lamp. Base Coat acts as the foundation for the color.
  • Gel Polish color: Apply a thin layer of the green Gel Polish color you have chosen and cure in the UV lamp. Repeat with 1-2 thin layers until you achieve the desired coverage.
  • Design: Now it’s time for the design. Use a thin liner brush for lines, a dotting tool for dots, or a Nail Art brush for more advanced patterns. You can also combine several green shades or add other colors to create your own look. Cure each design layer in the UV lamp.
  • Top Coat: Finish with a layer of Top Coat to seal the design and give the nails a beautiful glossy finish or a matte effect, if you prefer. Cure again in the UV lamp.
  • Cleanse and care: Wipe the nails with Nailster Cleanser to remove any tacky layer, and finish with nail oil to care for the cuticles.
