Create beautiful French Looks with Gel Polish at home

A French manicure is a timeless classic that gives your nails a polished, well-groomed finish. Here you’ll find everything you need to create your own French nails with Gel Polish. Whether you prefer a clean, classic look or modern variations with colors and patterns, we’ll help you find the right products.

What types of French nails are there?

A French manicure doesn’t have to be a white tip on a pink base. Today, there are countless creative variations to choose from. You can easily give your French manicure a personal touch, so it matches your style and mood.

Here you’ll find a wide selection of French Looks to inspire you:

  • Classic French: The iconic look with a clear or pink base and a crisp white tip.
  • Milky French Look: A softer version with a milky white, semi-transparent base that creates a more subtle finish.
  • Soft French Look: Similar to Classic French, but with a more muted base color that is closer to your natural nail color.
  • Glitter French Look: Give the classic white tip a twist with glitter, or use a glitter shade as the base.
  • Colored French Look: Replace the white tip with one of our many Gel Polish colors for a playful and modern finish.
  • French with Nail Art: Add flowers, patterns, or other details to make your French manicure your own.

What is a Milky French?

A Milky French is a popular variation of the classic French manicure. Instead of an opaque pink base, it uses a milky white or very sheer pink base color. This creates a softer and more natural result, where the white tip is still visible, while the base appears more subtle and seamless.

Which products do you need for a French manicure?

To create a long-lasting French manicure with Gel Polish at home, you’ll need the essential Gel Polish products as well as the specific colors and tools for the French manicure design.

The essential products include:

  • UV/LED lamp: To cure each layer of Gel Polish.
  • Base Coat: To ensure good adhesion to the natural nail.
  • Top Coat: For a glossy finish and extra durability.
  • Base color: A pink, nude, or milky white Gel Polish that forms the foundation of your French manicure.
  • Tip color: Typically a white Gel Polish, but you can also choose a colored Gel Polish or one with shimmer.
  • Liner brush: A thin brush that makes it easier to paint the crisp white or colored tip. You can also use French Tip Guides as a template.
  • Nail prep: Cuticle pusher, file, buffer, and Cleanser to prepare the nail.

Our French Look sets are curated with the colors you need for a specific look, making it easy to get started.

How do you create a French manicure with Gel Polish?

You can create a French manicure with Gel Polish at home. The process follows the same basic steps as any other Gel Polish application, but it requires a little extra precision when painting the tip.

  1. Prepare the nail: File, push back the cuticles, and buff gently. Clean the nail with Cleanser.
  2. Apply Base Coat: Cover the entire nail with a thin layer of Base Coat and cure in the UV/LED lamp.
  3. Apply base color: Apply 1-2 thin layers of your chosen pink, nude, or milky white Gel Polish and cure each layer.
  4. Paint the tip: Use a Liner brush to draw the white or colored tip. If you find it difficult to create a crisp line, you can use a French Tip Guide as a template. Cure the tip. Repeat for a more opaque result.
  5. Finish with Top Coat: Cover the entire nail with a layer of Top Coat to seal and add shine. Cure the Top Coat.
  6. Remove the sticky layer: Wipe with Cleanser to remove the sticky surface.

It takes a little practice to master the perfect French manicure tip, but with the right tools and patience, you can achieve a beautiful result.
