In addition to a good UV lamp, you also need nail accessories for preparing your nails before applying gel polish, as well as accessories for removing the polish again. A protective mat, nail care tools, and similar items can also help make the process as easy as possible.

Prepare your nails with the right tools
Before you start applying gel polish, your natural nails need to be prepared. This is also known as “prepping”, and it helps ensure that the result lasts as long as possible.
First and foremost, good hygiene is essential, so make sure your nails and hands are clean. It is also recommended that you trim and file your nails, and push back and remove excess cuticle. For prepping, you can find nail accessories such as:

It is also important to gently buff away the top layer of the nail with a buffer, so the outer oil layer is removed and your polish can adhere better.
Wipe with alcohol
