In this video, we show you how to easily and gently remove your Gel Polish using Soak-Off Remover Wraps. We guide you step by step, so you avoid damaging your natural nails and achieve a beautiful, clean result every time.
Are you ready to remove your Gel Polish the right way?
1. File off your Top Coat
The first thing you need to do when you start removing your Gel Polish is file off the top layer. You can either use a handheld nail file with 100/180 grit or our electric nail file with a Sanding Band in the same grit, depending on what you prefer. The important thing is to file in one direction only, rather than back and forth.
At a minimum, you need to file through the Top Coat so our Gel Remover can penetrate the product. However, it is important that you do not file through all of the product and reach your natural nail.
A good rule of thumb is: The more product you file off, the less time our Gel Remover will need to work. But be careful – you don’t want to end up filing all the way through the product and reaching your own nail! Take your time, and take short breaks along the way to check how much of your Gel Polish you have removed. It’s better to be a little too careful than too eager!
2. Soak Off
Once you have filed off the top layer of the product, start by applying nail oil around the edges of your nails. This protects your cuticles and helps prevent them from drying out from the acetone in our Gel Remover.
When you are ready to apply your Foil Wraps, thoroughly soak the cotton pad side with our Gel Remover and place it on each nail. It is important to position the wrap so the entire nail is in contact with the soaked cotton pad. Close the Foil Wrap around the nail by folding the sides tightly around your finger, then fold the top down behind the nail so the Foil Wrap seals snugly around your nail.
3. Wait 10 minutes
Once you have applied your Foil Wraps, leave them on for 10 minutes. It is important not to leave them on for too long, as the Gel Remover can evaporate – and if this happens, your Gel Polish may start to harden again. For this reason, it is best to unwrap one Foil Wrap at a time and remove the product straight away. This helps prevent your Gel Polish from hardening again while you are removing the product from another nail.
After 10 minutes, open your Foil Wraps and check whether your Gel Polish has loosened enough for you to gently push it off. If not, you will need to soak your nails again. To do this, wet your Foil Wraps again and apply them to the nails once more. Start with a few extra minutes, then check again.
For the best results, place a warm towel over your hands while the Foil Wraps are on. This gives you the full at-home spa experience! The warmth from the towel will also help create the best conditions for the Gel Remover to work effectively.
To warm the towel, place it on a radiator for a few minutes or pop it in the tumble dryer if you are already doing laundry.
4. Gently push off your Gel Polish
After 10 minutes, you can gently remove your Gel Polish using a rosewood stick or our cuticle pusher. It is important not to press too hard on the nail plate. Instead, make sure your Gel Polish has loosened enough so it can be removed easily with gentle strokes. Treat your nails with care so they can continue to grow long and beautiful.
Once you have pushed all the loose product off the nail, moisten a Lint-Free Pad with Cleanser and cleanse your nails.
5. Remove any residue
Once you have removed your Gel Polish, there may still be a little residue left on the nail. You can easily remove it by gently buffing your nail with our buffer. After buffing the nail, take another Lint-Free Pad soaked in Cleanser and cleanse the nail.
You’ll be left with a beautifully clean nail plate – ready for a new product or to let your gorgeous natural nails shine!
6. Apply nail oil
Wash your hands thoroughly, then apply nail oil. Massage the oil both around the cuticles and under the nails for maximum care.
